We respect human rights in all our operations

Every employee has the right to safe work, fair terms and conditions of employment, sufficient induction, understandable communication and the ability to raise concerns safely. We identify, prevent, monitor and, where necessary, remedy adverse impacts on people in our own operations and business relationships.
SOL does not accept forced labour, human trafficking, worker exploitation, child labour, discrimination, harassment, inappropriate treatment, recruitment fees, extortion or any other abuse of power. We have the same expectations of our partners and suppliers.

We encourage employees and other stakeholders to raise concerns, grievances and suspicions of misconduct as early as possible. SOL handles reports confidentially, impartially and with respect for data protection.

Safe work and home in good health
Our goal is for every SOL employee to be able to work safely, stay healthy and carry out their daily work with proper induction. We believe in a proactive safety culture in which hazards are identified in advance, observations are raised and the working environment is continuously improved.
Occupational safety is strengthened through induction, training, site-specific risk assessments, safety observations, supervisory work and occupational safety and health cooperation. We want it to be easy to talk about safety and for every employee to know what to do if risks, hazardous situations or concerns arise at work. We encourage our employees to participate in improving safety and to make observations that help us prevent accidents, occupational diseases and other adverse impacts. Occupational safety is managed in accordance with the ISO 45001 management system as part of continual improvement and the promotion of wellbeing at work.
Wellbeing and support for work ability
Employee wellbeing is one of the most important prerequisites for our operations. At SOL, wellbeing at work is supported through day-to-day management, proactive work ability management, cooperation with occupational health services and the SOL Life operating model. The aim of the model is to support work ability at an early stage, find solutions for adapting work and help employees cope at work as well as possible.
Wellbeing also arises from fair treatment, smooth work, the opportunity to be heard and employees feeling safe to raise concerns related to workload, work arrangements or the work community. We develop wellbeing at work on the basis of employee feedback, surveys, discussions, occupational safety and health observations and work ability data, in accordance with the ISO 45001 management system.
Competence, training and development
SOL is a major provider of workplace training. For many people, we offer a first job, a new direction in their career or an opportunity to grow professionally. We want to be a workplace where people from different backgrounds can learn, develop and build their own future.
We invest in induction, role-specific training paths, supervisor training and professional development. We also encourage our employees to pursue studies leading to a qualification. In competence development, we take into account the needs of customers, the business and employees.
Equality, equal treatment and respectful treatment
At SOL, everyone has the right to be treated with respect, equally and without discrimination or inappropriate treatment. Gender equality and equal treatment are part of responsible management, supervisory work and the everyday life of the work community.
We promote diversity in working life and recognise our particular responsibility to support young people, employees with an immigrant background, students, people in their first jobs and other employees in more vulnerable positions. Our goal is for everyone to have the opportunity to understand their rights, carry out their work safely, receive support and develop in their work. We are building a work community where different backgrounds, experiences and perspectives are seen as a strength and where everyone can feel that they belong.
Continuous development together
We are proud of the work SOL employees do for our customers and society. We want to develop and grow responsibly by caring for people, strengthening trust and building a working life where everyone has the opportunity to succeed. We monitor our social responsibility targets and results annually in our Sustainability Report.
