Our Temporary Agency Workers Are Satisfied with Their Work Overall and Would Recommend SOL Staffing Services to Others

Temporary agency work is viewed positively by employees overall. The economic situation has affected both the availability of work and the consistency of working opportunities. This is shown by a comprehensive study conducted by the Finnish Personnel Services Association HELA, as well as a survey of temporary agency workers conducted by SOL Henkilöstöpalvelut Oy. More than 5,000 temporary agency workers from various staffing companies responded to HELA’s study, while 200 temporary agency workers responded to SOL Henkilöstöpalvelut’s survey.
Temporary agency work is seen above all as a flexible way to find employment, an opportunity to adapt work to one’s personal circumstances, and a pathway to gaining diverse work experience. It is easy to combine temporary agency work with, for example, studies, another job, family life or seasonal work. Temporary agency work also helps employees develop a broad range of skills and progress in their careers.
In HELA’s study, as many as 89% of respondents said they would recommend temporary agency work, indicating a high level of satisfaction across the industry. The results of SOL Henkilöstöpalvelut’s survey also support this finding: the employee experience is positive, and an NPS score of 31 indicates a strong willingness to recommend the company. According to HELA’s study, 25% of temporary agency workers were unemployed before finding employment through a staffing company.
SOL Henkilöstöpalvelut’s operations are built on a strong foundation, with high-quality recruitment and a positive employee experience. 87% of employees said that the recruitment process is clear and smooth, 91% considered the recruiters knowledgeable and professional, and 88% said they were able to start working quickly. Payroll, occupational safety and employment terms are also handled well at SOL Henkilöstöpalvelut: 95% of respondents said that their salary is paid correctly and on time, 91% said that occupational safety is prioritized, and 87% said that their employment terms are clear and easy to understand.
Both the study and the survey highlight challenges related to the availability of work. In HELA’s study, 60% of respondents said they would like to work more hours. Among SOL Henkilöstöpalvelut’s respondents, 61% said they receive a sufficient number of shifts.
The results concerning the availability and predictability of work reflect the broader labor market situation. Economic uncertainty affects how consistently work is available. Companies have become more cautious in their recruitment and staffing decisions, which directly affects how much work is available and how predictable work schedules are.
“I am pleased and proud that the survey results were so positive overall. They show that temporary agency work is an excellent option for many people at a time when permanent employment may be less readily available. Holistic wellbeing and a more human-centered working life have long been an important part of SOL’s culture. It is great to see this reflected in our everyday operations and in our employees’ experiences. Flexibility, diverse opportunities and an easy access to employment make temporary agency work an attractive option for many. The challenges are primarily related to the amount of work available rather than its quality,” says Petra Thorén, Managing Director of SOL Henkilöstöpalvelut.
