Take a look at the Multicultural calendar and find festive moments in 2024! Many of the world’s religions follow the lunar cycle, which makes timing the holidays challenging and causes them to move around the calendar every year. In addition, Muslim holidays traditionally start at sunset the previous day, which brings its own additional spice to marking the dates. Celebrating holidays is often tied to local traditions and customs, which makes marking the exact dates even more challenging.
Our calendar is a simplified version of religious holidays and focuses only on the most important holidays. National and state holidays, such as Independence Day, are excluded from our calendar. However, our multicultural calendar is very important to SOL, because our staff consists of more than 70 different nationalitiesđź’›We want to increase awareness among SOL people about the holidays of different cultures and we want everyone to feel welcome at SOL.
